OBJECTIONS… they suck. I’m sure you’ve heard at least one of these in your career... “I need to think about it." “Let me talk it over with my wife/husband.” “It’s too much money for me right now.” “I don’t think the timing’s right.” Sound familiar? I’ve been in business for a year now, and I’m still ‘weak sauce’ at handling objections. In general, I don’t like confrontation. I’m quick to say, “OK, thanks for your time and have a good day”. I work hard to get leads, only to watch them slip away in seconds. It sucks. I feel like I wasted my time and theirs. When someone says, “I’ll get back to you”, I know 99% of the time he or she won’t. When someone says, “I’ll talk to my wife/husband about it”... Yea, right. 99% of the time, they have no desire to ever hear from me again. But that’s cool… Because every failure is a learning experience… and I’m getting better at handling objections. In fact, I’ve learned objections aren’t a bad thing at all. I almost prefer to hear them. Instead of freezing once an objection is thrown my way, I’ve found a way to turn (most of) them into an opportunity where I can actually help the person I’m speaking with. I’ve learned a lot from my small group of mentors. One of them told me to read the book, “Objections”. Makes sense, right? It’s an easy read, packed with valuable information you can implement as soon as you hear your next objection… because it’s only a matter of time before you do. I’m glad my mentor recommended it - so I’m doing the same for you. The $16 investment has turned “hard NO’s” into thousands of dollars in revenue. It could do the same, or better, for you. You might be great at handling every objection in the book (sure, pun intended). But if you know there’s room for even the slightest bit of improvement… If you want to stop watching potential clients slip away and walk out the door or hang up the phone… And if you want to not freeze like a deer in the headlights once you hear an objection… Then buy the book… Read it… And turn objections into new clients that’ll pay you for help, recommend you to friends and family, and become your biggest fans. Go kick some butt, Michael P.S. What books do you recommend for me? I love learning new things all the time!
